La traduction est devenue un phénomène global très important pour l’échange des informations et des idées d’une langue à une autre. Puisque le monde devient de plus en plus un village global en ce qui concerne la communication et l’échange des idées, c’est évident qu’on a besoin de la traduction des informations et des messages d’une langue à une autre pour l’avancement de la société. Elle joue un rôle important au fonctionnement des sociétés parce que ce n’est pas seulement le processus de la traduction des mots qui compte mais elle cherche à améliorer la transformation des sens et des intentions à toute sphère de la vie humaine. Notre étude se focalise sur la traduction littéraire et elle cherche à lier les écarts délicats entre la culture et la langue afin d’assurer la compréhension de l’homme contre les frontières linguistiques nationales. Vinay et Darbelnet ont proposé des procédés de la traduction pour perfectionner la traduction des textes littéraires à savoir : « l’emprunt, le calque, la traduction littérale, la transposition, la modulation, l’équivalence, l’adaptation ». Mais est-ce que la perfection est réalisable avec les procédés proposés ? Voici ce qui nous incite à faire une analyse critique du texte traduite intitulé « Les procédés de la traduction : une étude critique de la version anglaise de C’est le soleil qui m’a brûlée de Calixthe Beyala. L’étude examine la façon dont Marjolijn de Jager a utilisé les différents procédés de traduction pour transmettre le message de Calixthe Beyala dans la version anglaise, The Sun Hath Looked upon Me par rapport à la version française C’est le soleil qui m’a brûlée. L’approche linguistique, thématique et littéraire que nous avons adopté nous aident à trouver que la plupart des traductions littéraires ne sont pas parfait car il y a toujours des divergences dues aux défauts culturels et ethnologiques.
