ABSTRACT
This project work is on the design of a Computerized Birth Registration System with St. Patrick’s Hospital and Maternity Owerri Road as a case study.. A Computerized Birth Registration System is concerned with the computerization of societal Birth records in the Birth registration Department in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the organization. The application of computer into the Birth Registration System will bring the organization to a modern standard and maintain efficient records.
The design was implemented to facilitate the Computerized Birth Registration System for administration. Hence, computer based information system will simplify birth registration procedure by reducing the task to simple data entry. Thus, with the realization of the aims and objectives of this project, emphasis are on speed, reliability, accuracy, relief of some human effort and cost effectiveness of regulation operations to mention a few.
ORGANIZATION OF WORK
This project work is primarily designed to give an insight to Computerized Birth Registration System with St. Patrick’s Hospital and Maternity Owerri Road as a case study.
Chapter one talks about introduction to Computerized Birth Registration System, statement of problem, aims and objectives, purpose of study, scope, Limitation, Assumption as well as Definition of some terms used.
Chapter two comprises the literature review.
Chapter three gives the detailed information about the existing /old system. While chapter four and five deals with the design and implementation of the new system.
Chapter six documents the project work, while in chapter seven, summaries, conclusion and suggestions were made.
