ABSTRACTThis study focused on perceptions of stakeholders on the role performances of Principals in the Management of Secondary Schools in Yola Metropolis, Adamawa State, Nigeria For the purpose of this research, eight research objectives were set to include; role performances of principals on interpersonal relationship, decision making process, school communication, school supervision, staff development programmes, maintenance of discipline, school-community relationship and maintenance of facilities in secondary schools management in Yola metropolis, Adamawa State. Also, research questions and research hypotheses were formulated in line with the objectives of the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and data were collected using constructed questionnaire which prepared and validated by expert in Educational Administration. The population of the study involved 1711 teachers, 32 principals and 81 Ministry of Education officials. However, a total of 514 teachers, 28 principals and 41 MOE officials were served as a sample of study. The reliability coefficient was obtained at 0.77 using Cronbach's Alpha statistical technique. The data collected were presented by the use of frequency and percentages. The formulated hypotheses of the research were tested using Analysis of Variance at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed among others that role performances of principals on interpersonal relationship necessitate good interaction between teachers, students and non-teaching staff in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State, role performances of principals encouraged participation of parent, teachers and other stakeholders in decision making in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State, role performances of principals improved effective communication in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that democratic leadership styles should be adopted in schools management which improves interpersonal relationship between various stakeholders in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State, school principals should encourage participation of all stakeholders such parent, teachers, students, club and societies in decision making in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State, principals should reinstate effective communication among various stakeholders such zonal office/Ministry of education parent, teachers, students, club and societies and even external agent in secondary schools in Yola Metropolis in Adamawa State
