The absence of any archaeological research carried out on Duhwan hill propelled this survey as the site is already under human and natural threats. This research aimed at reconstructing the past life ways of the people of Duhwan, and was achieved through the consultation of written documents, collection of oral tradition of the people, ethnographic survey of the settlement of the people, identification and documentation of the finds and features found on the hill, analysis of finds and features found on the site and at the end, an archaeological map showing the features identified on the site was produced. The ethnographic survey of the settlement shows cultural continuity between the extinct and extant people of Duhwan. The ethnographic survey of Atakar pottery also shows the relationship of the Bajju and their neighbouring ethnic groups in the past and even at present. In order to study the archaeological content of the site properly, a phenomenological approach was applied and a contextual study of the finds and features on the site was also chosen for a good understanding of the finds and features in their context. This gives an idea of the relationship between the people and their environment especially on how the people exploited their environment for an optimum living. Potsherds were randomly collected around the site based on visual diagnosis and also analyzed through visual observation, and they depict different decorative motifs, giving a clue into the past life style of the people who inhabited the hill. Features such as grindstones, monoliths, compound foundations, rock hollows and caves were identified on the site and were also interpreted archaeologically, unraveling some aspects of the past life ways of the people as well. For a proper understanding of the history of this site, more extensive researches which should involve excavations, scientific analyses and dating should be carried out on the site. This would be able to give the chronology of the site which is lacking presently.
