ABSTRACT
The study was to explore the possible impact of supervisors on effective bank management with particular references to Afribank plc, Enugu.
To guide this recently the following form research questions were formulated as this.
To what extent are human and non - human resources adequate for efficient inspection In Afribank plc Enugu.
To what extent are central mearsures against basd debt in the Afribank been achieved.
To what extent as the bank provision against computer fraud been achieved.
To what extent are the workers assured of job security and satisfaction? A structured questionnaire developed by the researcher was administered to a total of 50 males and female staff of Afribank plc, Enugu.
They were selected using the entire population for reliability.
Hence the data collected and analysed using percentage men and rank order.
MAJOR FINDINGS INCLUDE
1) That make a majority in Afribank plc Enugu
2) That greater majority of the staff is single.
3) That majority are HND. Degree holders.
4) That greater the greater majority of the staff have served for 6 - 10years.
5) Those resources are not adequate except few resources items.
6) Those computer frauds have not been experienced in Afribank plc, Enugu.
7) Interference and job/ position insecurity of inspectors effect objectivity report recommendation.
8) Bad debt occurred in Afribank sometimes based on findings.
MAJOR RECOMMENDATION MADE INCLUDE THAT:
1) In semic training should be given to staff on regular basis to get a breast with demand of time
2) The use of delegation as a supervisor strategy to be in professional touch despite physical remittance 85 in all sectors of the bank.
3) Seminars, staff meeting, individual conference, demonstration services, provision of office bulletin and make people closer world would make for supervising efficiency.
4) Promotion of good working relationship by cultivating desirable temperament.
5) Leadership functions such as coordinating resolving and servicing should be taken serious as a code development in the bank.
6) Staff safety and welfare must be assured for continuality.

CHAPTER ONE
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The (1969) banking act defined banking as the granting of loan and acceptances of credit and the business of receiving money from the outside source as deposit irrespective of the payment of interest of the assumption of guarantees and other warrantees for others or the affecting of transfer and cleaning.
And such other transaction as the minister may on the recommendation of the central bank by other published in the federal gazette designate as banking business.
The banking system in Nigeria is made up of the central, commercial, merchants and development banks such as peoples bank and community banks were recently established managers depositors finds the task of managing is entrusted with honor, reputable and hardworking personnel.
Among various functions of bank management is decision making the rational selection from among alternatives of a curse of a curse it is at the core of planning a plain cannot be said to exist unless a decision a decision has been reached.(kraontz,1984)
The management personnel of the bank establish internal control procedure for the effective discharge of the major functions in order to attain their corporate objectives. In doing this, special attention must be given to communication. The structure of the bank organization should have a line and staff structure information from the top management level to be aware of the bank policy land their own responsibilities towards the bank. With a free flow of information, there will be a real basis for effective decision making.
There is a need to establish a follow - up mechanism so that the performance will be monitored to know whether action is going according to plan and policies. It is in the light of the above factors that the management functions of controlling becoming very desirable.
In view of the above issues, the bank management has established the internal organ for internal control system.
However, despite the establishment of this, there seem to be lapses here and there.
Based on the above factors, the research was motivated to examine the extent to which inspectorate unit of banks are contributing to the bank resources with particular to United Bank of Africa Plc station road Enugu.
1.1 STATEMENT OF STUDY
Despite the creation of internal control unit in the bank, it is not clear on the adequacy of human and non human resources for efficiency operations of banking industry. This is because managers still grant credits (loan) beyond their power unit without collateral security.
Secondly, there are cases of computer frauds, deflation and outright removal of physical cash by employees and outskirts, this has created unbalanced books and records with obvious effect of huge lose.
Other concerns the extents of frequent rationalization and retrenchment in the banking industry. This creates job insecurity and workers may tend to indulge, may act for survival in time of eventuation. All these effect of supervision as an aid to effective bank management.
1.2 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study includes the following:
1 to examine the inspection techniques in Afribank Plc road Enugu.
2 to find out the extents to compute frauds and association evils in Afribank plc Enugu with a view of solving them.
3 to ascertain the number of bad debt resulting from loan given to customers that has not been recovered and provision made for prevention.
4 to find out the level of job security provisions in Afribank plc, Enugu as it relates to proper accountability by banking staff.

The results of this work may help creates the awareness required for effective and efficient of the bank on a regular basis. it is also anticipated that banks will take advantage of the suggestion from this work to embrace commitment and objective reporting for accurate record keeping.
It is also hoped that reports from this work may help to create confidence to bank customers and facilities cordial relationship among banks and customers.
The results of this work will help workers to strictly obscure policies and procedure of the banking ethics to strengthen the job security of staff efficient growth and development restructure.
Finally, an application of the suggestions made customers co operation among staff, trust and confidence on the set of objectives of the banking industry.
