ABSTRACT
This study tried to examine the impact of Social Adjustment and Intra- Family Relationship on Academic Achievement of Secondary School Students in Zaria. The target population is all the SSI Students in Zaria Educational Zone. The subjects consisted of 400 boys and girls of SSI students from 6 secondary schools that were randomly sampled. Survey method was the research design. Two types of instruments were used, which are the Myer's Intra-Family Questionnaire and Sydmond Adjustment Scale. The former takes care of the adjustment at home while the latter is for the adjustment in school. A pilot study was conducted in two of the schools, one for boys and the other for girls. The reliability of the instrument was computed with Cronbach alfa coefficient and the reliability was 0.487 at 0.05 level of significance. The researcher and some teachers who assisted conducted the administration of the instrument. Pearson Product Moments Correlation and t-test was used. The JSSCE examination represented the Achievement test, which was already administered nationally.
