This research work is purely based on media organization accounting. Media industry is made up of the electronic and the print. The electronic sub-sector include the Television and radio as medium of communication whereas the print media include the magazine, newspaper and periodic as medium of communication.
This sub-sector is largely controlled by time government but there is private ownership too. The research work focused mainly in the electronic media. The researcher took a critical look into the historical development of the media industry especially the electronic media and accounting operations.
This work has three chapters. Chapter one contains the introductory part of the study. The scope and limitation of the study and finally the definition of terms.
The past related literature as it relates to media organisation especially the electronic media are highlighted in chapter two.
Finally, the summary of finding conclusion and recommendation are all in chapter three.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
As competition between the accountability of an organization to the other arose, it become imperative to turn attention to the sweat means by which accountability could be maintained and improved by various organizations. There electronic means arose to challenge other various means.
The electronic media concept holds that the key to achieving organisation goal based on accountability is by fasting and saving every transaction that must have taken place in that organizational developing the desired satisfaction more effectively and efficiently than competitors. The electronic media concept is a frame work which organisation works with. It is based on customer certification and profitability.
Several organizations have stated the need for electronic media in business and in their various activities. Most organizations do not really group or embrace the electronic media until they are driven by circumstances to it, like slow growth, profit decline and changing of patronage pattern by customers and also increase in competition.
These companies have not arrived at full maturity but think that because they have a manager they are implimentry the organisation concept.
As interesting and entirely logical results of the electronic media relates to the control purpose of business which is to the central purpose of business which is to be obtain service to customers since profit is the vital requirement of the business organisation. It is conventional to regard it as central purpose.
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The problem of the study really arose in order to see if a person other than the government of the federation, the state or any other body authorized by the president can own or establish or operate any television or wireless broadcasting station for any purpose whatsoever. This was as a result of a lot of problems which the electronic media organisation created.
Again, the research work is to find out the problem of accounting system in the media industry with a particular reference to the electronic media organisation to see if the account in the media industry especially the electronic media are kept properly with the view of the financial statement.
It also toys to find out the weak point of Nigerian electronic media organisation especially in accounting system in the media industries.
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Every organisation is established with the assumption that the objective of management is to maximize profit. Although there are some that are not for profit but to protect the interest of their members and public in general. A formationable sector in this free market enterprise is the media organization. The importance of these organizations can be overemphasized as it entertains and educates the public about the activities of other sectors of the economy.
The press newspaper and magazines, radio, television, telephone, computer and other agencies of the mass communication are known basically for its watch dog functions.
The development of mass media organization in Nigeria was spear weeded from the outset by private entrepreneur along side the organs of government specially credited to propage (increase) government activities.
Media organization consists of the electronic and the print. The electronic sub-sector which has Radio, Television, Computer and Telephone as medium of communication is exclusively owned and controlled by the government whereas the print media which include the magazines, newspaper and periodical as a medium of communication has active government participation but there is significant worship of this sector.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The significance of this study arose from the need for communication and electronic media organisation and other agencies at mass communication serves as watch dog.
This makes it possible for having some idea of various characteristics of useful information. But more fundamentally what is information? As accounting is about the provision of useful figure to people about their resources. The accountant has to provide figures for the user.
Infact, the focus of this research work is on media organisation in general with particular reference to the electronic media and its accounting operation.

1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF STUDY
The scope and limitation of this study is to relatively narrowed to the relationship between the present and the user of accounts report, because what is applied night here in Nigeria is more or less obtained at the outside world.
The press, newspaper and magazines, Radio and Television, Computer and other agencies of the mass communication are known basically for the function so this study is limited to the media organization particularly electronic media and its accounting operation.
1.6 ACCOUNTING DEFINITION
Since 140 of the companies Act of 1969 requires that every company shall keep proper books of accounts to record all sums of money received and spent, all sales and purchases of goods by the company.
Accounting is the process that deals with measurement and concerns the collection, classification and presentation of information on economic activity in form of events and transactions, converting this monetary terms for display and communication in an appropriation form to internal and external user groups for the decision making, planning and controlling and reporting activities.
