ABSTRACT
Using Teaching Aids in Learning, is a case study concerning Samaru area only, is a research carried out to find out the influence and usage of Teaching Aids in nursery schools in and around samaru village. The types of visual aids provided,how they are manipulated and cared for among others were all investigated. To achieve this aim some questionnaires were distributed to some proprietors and teachers from selected schools. Other teachers were also nterviewed. The children involved were interviewed and tested. Related literature concerning the study has been reviewed under the following sub-headings; i) the importance of Visual Teaching Aids in general education ii) types of Visual Aids; iii) provision of appropriate Visual Aids and; iv) factors affecting Visual Aids. The research method employed was the survey method. A total of ten (10) schools were selected from the population of about twenty (20) to thirty (30) nursery schools. Six (6) pupils were also selected from each the two (2) chosen classes in every school. The two classes chosen were nursery II and nursery III eception) classes. The outcome of this investigations explained a lot about visual aids utilisation in terms of how they are used and misus concerning children's Iearning. lt also indicated the ways the teachers used them in teaching and how well the children understand with or without them. Results were discussed and interpreted by means of simple tables and some statistical tables. Some recommendations and suggestions were given at the end
