Data collected in the study was analyzed using mean distribution and t- test statistics. The three (3) research questions and three (3) hypotheses which sought to find out the effect of reinforcement counseling technique in the rate of reducing truancy problem among secondary school students (respondents) exposed to reinforcement counseling technique based on gender and location were answered and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Findings of the study include; that, there is significant effect of reinforcement counseling technique in the rate of truancy reduction on the experimental group exposed to the treatment. The level of truancy of the experimental group was greatly reduced after treatment of the reinforcement counseling technique compared with the control group (t= .7007, p =.024), that there is a significant effect of reinforcement counseling technique in the rate of truancy reduction on the male and female experimental group (respondents) exposed to reinforcement counseling technique. The rate of truancy of male and female respondents was greatly reduced after the treatment regardless of difference in gender (t= 767, p= .456), there is also a significant effect of reinforcement counseling technique in the rate of truancy reduction on the urban and rural respondents exposed to reinforcement counseling technique. The rate of truancy of both urban and rural respondents was also greatly reduced after treatment regardless of difference in location (t= 475, p= .642).
