Nigerian Telecommunications Limited deals with Communications business in Nigeria. It is specifically created to provide and maintain Communications services externally and internally for the entire populace of Nigeria and also make profit.
The main line of business includes Telephone, Telex and Telegraph services throughout the country and to any country in the World. These services are provided both on cash and credit basis. It is on the credit aspect that this study is concerned with. The study is concerned with finding our problems being faced by the International arm (former NET) of Nigeria Telecommunications Limited Kaduna North West Zone in i ts
receivables collection policies and also the problems faced by the customers in trying to s e t t l e their b i l l s for the services
rendered to them on credit.
The aim is to come out with ways and means of solving these two-edged problems facing both the customers and the organization. The study becomes necessary owing to huge amount of debt accumulated by credit customers.
The study concludes with recommendations for the s t r i ct adherence to the new procedures, methods and policies for
granting credit f a c i l i t i e s and receivables collection. These recommendations are derived from the conclusions drawn from
the research.
